1

Your first apiary and hive are created for you

To make it easy to start, BeePulse creates your first apiary and your first hive when you sign up. You only rename them and give the apiary an address, which gives you its weather.

Select a step to see where to tap

Open “Apiaries” and tap the first apiary
On the web app, open “My Hives” in the sidebar and edit the apiary there; the hive is renamed from its own page.
2

Adding more apiaries and hives

An apiary is a place where you keep hives; a hive always belongs to one apiary.

Select a step to see where to tap

On “Apiaries”, tap “Add apiary”
The free plan allows up to 3 apiaries and 10 hives; the app tells you when you reach the limit.
3

Queen tracking and colour tags on the web

Each hive in your apiary can be tracked with detailed information about the queen, type, and status.

  1. Inside your apiary, click 'Add Hive'
  2. Enter a name and optional identifier (e.g., H-001)
  3. Select the hive type: Langstroth, Dadant, Warré, Top Bar, or Other
  4. Set the frame count and choose a color tag for easy identification
  5. Add queen information: breed, color, year, marked/clipped status
  6. Click 'Save' to create the hive
Use color tags to quickly identify hive categories at a glance — for example, yellow for new colonies, red for hives needing attention.
4

Moving Hives Between Apiaries

When you physically move hives to a different location, update their apiary assignment in the app.

  1. Open the hive you want to move
  2. Click 'Move to Apiary' from the actions menu
  3. Select the target apiary from the dropdown
  4. The hive and its linked station will be reassigned to the new apiary
All inspection history and sensor data stays with the hive when you move it.
5

Deleting a hive

Deleting a hive removes it for good, with its inspections, notes, voice recordings, treatments and photos. It cannot be undone, and it frees a place under your plan's hive limit.

  1. Open the hive
  2. Tap the red trash icon at the top right
  3. Read what will be deleted and confirm with “Delete”
Export what you need first (the treatment register, for example).
6

Linking Monitoring Stations to Hives (optional)

Only if you also have a monitoring station. Connect your BeePulse monitoring stations to specific hives to see sensor data alongside your hive records.

  1. Open the hive you want to link a station to
  2. Click 'Link Sensor' in the hive details
  3. Select an available monitoring station from the dropdown
  4. The station's data will now appear in the hive's monitoring tab
Each station can only be linked to one hive at a time. Unlink it from the current hive before linking to another.
