Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

At BeePulse (operated by Malex Software SRL), we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our beehive monitoring services. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all the terms of this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

Personal Information

BeePulse collects information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, use our services, or contact us for support. This includes: Name and contact information (email, phone number), Beekeeping operation details (location, number of hives), Account credentials and preferences, Payment and billing information.

Device and Sensor Data

Our IoT sensors collect data about your beehives including: Weight measurements and changes over time, Temperature and humidity readings, Hive activity levels and patterns, Device status and performance metrics.

Push Notifications

If you allow notifications in the mobile app, we store a device token together with your account, so that we can tell you when our team has written to you or replied to your message. The token is a technical identifier of your phone issued through Expo's notification service (United States) and passed on to Apple or Google to deliver the notification. A notification only says that you have a message; it never contains the message itself or any data about your apiaries. The token is deleted when you sign out of the app or delete your account, and you can turn notifications off at any time in your phone's settings.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for various purposes, including: Providing and maintaining our beehive monitoring services Processing transactions and managing your account Sending technical alerts and important notifications about your hives Generating analytics and insights about hive health and productivity Providing customer support and responding to your inquiries Improving our products and developing new features Detecting and preventing technical issues or fraudulent activities

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your information in the following circumstances: Service Providers: We work with third-party vendors who provide services such as cloud hosting, data analysis, payment processing, and customer support. Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities. Business Transfers: If Malex Software SRL is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. With Your Consent: We may share information with third parties when you have given us explicit consent to do so. Artificial Intelligence Providers: When you record a voice inspection or a voice note in the mobile app, and only after you allow it, the recording is sent to AssemblyAI, Inc. (United States), which transcribes it into text, and the resulting text is sent to Anthropic, PBC (United States), which organizes it into a structured inspection or generates a title for the note. Only the recording and its text are sent. You can withdraw this permission at any time in the app's Settings; recording then becomes unavailable and the rest of the service is unaffected. Infrastructure Providers: We also use MongoDB Atlas to host our database, Google Firebase for account sign-in, Cloudflare to store photos and recordings, and Microsoft Azure to convert hive summaries into speech. Expo's push notification service (United States), together with Apple and Google, delivers notifications to your phone.
