BeePulse Mobile App

The BeePulse app lets you manage your hives directly from your phone. Available on iOS and Android, it gives you a dedicated mobile experience built for use at the apiary — large touch targets, clear health indicators, and no small menus.

To install the BeePulse app on your iPhone or iPad, use Safari.

1. Open Safari and go to beepulse.io
2. Log in to your BeePulse account
3. Tap the Share button (square with arrow) at the bottom of the screen
4. Tap 'Add to Home Screen'
5. Give it a name (or keep 'BeePulse') and tap 'Add'
6. The BeePulse app icon now appears on your phone — tap it to open

To install the BeePulse app on Android, use Chrome.

1. Open Chrome and go to beepulse.io
2. Log in to your BeePulse account
3. You should see an 'Install app' banner at the bottom — tap 'Install'
4. If no banner appears: tap the three-dot menu (⋮) and select 'Install app'
5. Tap 'Install' to confirm
6. The BeePulse app icon now appears on your phone and in your app drawer

When you open the BeePulse app on your phone, you'll see a dedicated mobile interface designed for use at the apiary — with large cards, clear indicators, and no small menus.

• Home screen shows your apiaries as large tappable cards with hive count, alert badges, and last visit date
• If you have only one apiary, the app skips straight to your hive list
• Tap an apiary card to see the hive status board with a weather widget at the top
• Each hive is shown as a card with health status (OK, Queenless, or Overdue), queen year, and last inspection date
• Tap a hive card to expand it and see more details: type, frames, supers, breed, and sensor connection
• The floating action button (amber circle at the bottom-right) gives quick access to Quick Log, Scan QR, and Add Note
• Use the Settings icon in the top-right to switch to the full desktop dashboard

The BeePulse app works without internet connection. This is perfect for logging inspections at the apiary where signal may be weak or unavailable.

• Quick-Log inspections are saved locally on your phone when offline
• Your hive and apiary list is cached so you can browse and select without internet
• An amber 'Offline' chip appears in the header when you have no connection
• When you're back online, a blue 'Syncing' indicator shows while data is being uploaded
• A green checkmark appears when all data has synced successfully
• Health scores are calculated on the server and appear after sync

Quick-Log is designed for mobile use at the apiary. Complete an inspection in 30 seconds by tapping through 5 simple screens.

1. Tap the floating action button (amber circle at the bottom-right) and select 'Quick Log'
2. Select the hive (or scan its QR code to auto-select)
3. Tap your answer for each screen: Queen? Brood? Stores? Temperament? Problems?
4. Review the summary and tap 'Save'
5. The inspection is saved immediately — online or offline

Print QR codes for your hives and stick them on the hive body. Then scan them with the BeePulse app to instantly start a Quick-Log for that hive.

1. Go to 'My Hives' and open a hive's settings
2. Click 'Print QR Code' to generate and print a weather-resistant label
3. Stick the QR code on the hive body (laminate it for durability)
4. At the apiary, tap the floating action button and select 'Scan QR'
5. Point your camera at the QR code — the hive is identified instantly
6. Continue with the Quick-Log inspection for that hive

The Notes feature lets you jot down quick observations about an apiary or hive without starting a full inspection.

1. Tap the floating action button and select 'Add Note'
2. A bottom panel opens showing your existing notes for this apiary
3. Type your note in the text field at the bottom
4. Tap the send button or press Enter to save
5. Notes are time-stamped and saved to the server
6. You can view notes for specific hives or the whole apiary
